Date Day

Thanks Grandma Connie for coming down and watching Emma while Mommy and Daddy had a day to themselves. We had a great day planned...go to a movie and then the USC game! We saw Max Payne...kind of cheesy but entertaining. Then it was off to the USC game. We took a quick stop at the Sprint store to get new phones...that was not as quick as we wanted it to be, which made us late for the game. As we were coming to grips with the fact that we were going to miss kick off, we read a sign that said "Coliseum parking full." Now, we have to drive around an unfamiliar area (literally the ghetto) and try to find parking. Did I mention that this was USC's homecoming???? We finally found a lot with a sign "free shuttle to the Coliseum." Great, right? After we paid, we found out that the shuttle left from the Staples Center...4 BLOCKS AWAY, in the wrong direction! As we finally arrive at the shuttles, I notice a parking garage right across the street! To top it off, the shuttles do not run back and forth during the game, so we either stay for the entire game or get a cab back to our car. We finally make it to the Coliseum and can't find the will call booth. One lady (at gate 23) sends us in the wrong direction and by the time we figure out where we need to go, we are on the opposite side. We get to the will call booth (at gate 1), pick up our tickets, and look for our section...23. We both hang our heads and drag our feet all the way back around to section 23. We get some nachos, a hot dog and a pretzel and find our seats. By this time, there was only 2 min left in the 2nd quarter and the score was already 42-0 USC. We stayed until the middle of the 3rd quarter and left. We made it home just in time to give Emma a bath and put her down for the night. It was a very frusterating day, but we had a good time. It was the first time in almost a year that Todd and I have been out without the baby!
